Hot Stone massage is based on ancient Indian healing methods and uses smooth, flat, heated basalt stones that are positioned along the spine at the Chakra points of the body. Basalt stones are used for massage purposes because they have a rich iron content that retains heat. The pressure and heat of the stones help to relieve tension, transmit soothing energy and improve blood circulation. Cold marble stones are also used to detoxify and heal the body.
